My clients recently overhauled the kitchen in their 2 story craftsman home. In doing so, we redesigned the 1st floor bedroom off the kitchen into a dual functioning playroom-guest room.
The original room had a door off the hallway, but during the kitchen renovation we moved the door to the kitchen side, so that while entertaining or cooking, my client could easily see in the room and keep an eye on her son.
We also had a Murphy bed system installed and planned how each set up of the room could function, 1) with kids 2) when grandparents are visiting.
The gallery wall above the sitting nook includes my client‘s mother’s preschool cutouts from Dr. Suess’ “Ten Apples up on Top.” We made sure to include clips so her son can add his art.
